I used to love when the old White Dwarfs came in the mail. The battle reports were absolutely amazing! I'd always go straight to them, before perusing the rest of the magazine. With the changes in White Dwarf over the last few years I've fallen out of interest in the magazine in general, but still pull out the old ones every now and then for a quick read.
Through this link is where you'll find just a small portion of the battles we played that I've turned into small 'battle reports.' Unfortunately, my memory is fading in regards to some of our earlier games, but I've been trying to make an effort to take notes recently.
I have written (or started) many different campaigns over the years. Very few of them were ever played, which I'm finding really sad now. Mostly though this was because of the time commitment for campaigns. We've tried many times and haven't really succeeded yet.
Anyway, I tried to do something different for this particular campaign, and not really make it a campaign at all. We tried to design a place where all of our armies could be and fight without having to bend time/space to make it fit. We could populate this new space with our own factions and armies and play campaigns that could shape this particular world and have some changing dynamics instead of resetting to the status quo after each game in the Warhammer World.
The one caveat for this to work is to not think about how it fits within the greater Warhammer world, how the special characters interact etc. This was tough, but the more you tried to align it to the Warhammer world the worse it got.
We tried to set a lot of our games in here, but no one was committed to it and never wrote anything up or discussed impacts etc.
I really like stats and spreadsheets, so a while ago I trawled back through all the photos of old games to try and note down games played, points, winner/losers, etc.
To the left is my chart of games I've played with each faction.
This data goes back to March 2008, when I played with Orcs and Goblins in a small tournament we held as a group.
This dataset is painfully, woefully incomplete. I think It's pretty good from about 2012ish onwards, but we played so many games before then (about 10 years of high school & early uni days) that are long forgotten
I know I certainly played a lot of Beastmen before selling them.
Within is our adventure through the streets of Ulfenkarn
