Mordheim is my absolute favourite part of Warhammer Fantasy. Most of my fondest memories of gaming are of Mordheim moments. There are still characters I remember fondly and many I fear.
Recently I've been privileged to be part of the RadHeim group. A small group of mates who love Mordheim and love playing with stunning terrain. If you haven't already, check them out on instagram @Rad_heim, or youtube. The terrain Ben and Sean have put together is an absolute joy to play on.
I've played a lot of campaigns in the past with various warbands. Shadow warriors (I wasn't that guy, most of mine had swords not uber bows), Pit Fighters, Mordheimers (a weird cross between flagellants and frenzied mob), Possessed, Middenheimers just to name a few. But most of our campaigns petred out after a few sessions then we'd get back together months/years later and start a new one. So I'd never really played anything longer than 5-10 games.
The RadHeim's first campaign, The Circus is Coming, followed four warbands and the arrival of the circus to Mordheim. Ben and Sean were the pro-circus side, whilst Jamie carried myself as the anti-circus. Our exploits can be found in The Campaigner, a hobby magazine that covers board games, table top games, RPG's etc. Our story starts in issue 26. This warband is one of my proudest hobby moments. It was from the Instagram page that GW used a photo of my halberdiers on their website. Seeing GW feature some of my models (for the freeguild soliders), was a crowning achievement.
We're currently deep into our second campaign. This one is much more free form, with no set narrative to follow. It is set on the Pirate island of Sartosa, and makes heavy use of the Mutiny in Marienburg fan setting. There's over 10 warbands running around following their own path, and in this I'm controlling the Travelling show of the Little Merwench, a Strigany warband.
