For a long time, my Warriors of Chaos army has been a Norse tribe that follows all the chaos gods in their own way. The aspect of the Crow, Wolf, Snake, and Eagle.
In order for it to look more 'Norse' I stepped it down a rung for each of the ranks, building my marauders from flagellant bodies, warriors from marauders, and chaos knights from the old metal chaos knights, I added lots of Marauders Horsemen to build up the raider feel to it. This army was mainly built during 7th edition. I don't know why I fell away from this army, partly the changes with 8th edition and perhaps just finding something else to invest energy into and never came back. I had some great fun with the chaos characters and have some great memories of games with them. Plus the Lord on Daemonic Steed is one of my favourite models.
However, after a while I realised, much like all of my armies, this one is a little too basic. Nothing big and scary, especially for an elite army.
The Norse portion of the army are the Sarl tribe. They worship Chaos and raid in the name of all the gods. While the tribe's chieftains rise and fall, the enigmatic sorcerer behind it all has been constant for over 150 years. As one champion rises, the tribe leans toward a different God, yet at it's heart the tribe follows Chaos Undivided.
The current Warlord is Vorn Rignulfr the Steel Wolf. Vorn follows Khorne in his guise as the All Devouring Wolf.
Vorn rose to power following the fall of the previous Chieftain, his name now forgotten as his failure was rewarded with spawndom. Since then Vorn has ruled with an iron fist, his personal champions rising in power with him. There is now a very strong Khornate faction at the heart of the Sarls.
While Aesgin's beginnings were unnatural, they were not uncommon. His mother was raped following a Chaos invasion of her homeland of Kislev, she cursed the Gods for her treatment and in turn, they cursed her unborn child. The Child was born misshapen and was left out to die. The gods had other plans, however, and he survived via the help of an unlikely benefactor, eventually finding his way north where he was given to the Sarls to learn the shamanistic ways of the tribe.
Soon he grew strong and became a powerful sorcerer in his own right, becoming the advisor to the Chieftain. His influence rose as the Chieftains fell until he all but commanded the tribe.
Many new Chieftains have chaffed at Aesgin's control, but none have survived open challenge to him.

Exalted Champion
Our gaming group were terrorised throughout 6th and 7th edition by a rampant Archaon. I vowed to get my own, and finally bought 2 (both mounted and foot). He has only graced the field once, and not at my hands, during our Storm of Chaos battle.
