π» Geography and Weather
This Duchy exists in perpetual Summer. It has a wet season for 6 months, and a dry season for 6 months. The dry season is a little cooler with clear sunny days and starry nights. The wet season is prone to monsoons and heavy storming and is humid. Weather is around 25-35 Celsius.
This Duchy is a subtropical Mediterranean biome. That means coastal forests, mixed woodland, jungle, bush, and scrubs. The native flora in this Duchy is inspired by Mediterranean grasses and trees, and Australian bush flora.
π» Architecture
Buildings in towns and villages are made from white sandstone with terracotta clay roof tiles. Climbing vines and citrus trees are common decorations. Some houses are multicoloured blue, pink and yellow in towns.Β
Reves Du Soleil
The capital city is made up of canals and multiple levels reminiscent of Venice.
The Summer Court castle - home of the King and Queen of Folkland - is an architectural thing of beauty. It is art nouveau in style with organic shapes, curving lines, stained glass, and ornamentation depicting the natural world. The wealthy buildings in the capital have elements of this almost alien looking building structure.Β
π» Clothing
Clothing in small towns and villages is classic peasant garb consisting of tunics, pants and belts in European style.
A little closer to the capital city, and things get more interesting. Upper class folks will wear Venetian Carnival garb and other traditional Italian garb in light, breathable fabrics such as silks and light spun cotton.
