Woodwose

🍄 Overview

Woodwose are gentle, clever, and reclusive wildfolk who dwell in deep forests. Woodwose, literally meaning "wild man of the woods" have historically been persecuted and misunderstood. They now live in reclusion, and are wary of outsiders.

Design Guidelines

• Woodwose are very hairy and have thick fur over almost all of their bodies, except parts of their torso, cheeks, and palms.

• All woodwose have horns. They can be small and pointed, or large and curved like a goat.

• Many woodwose also have tusks - especially male woodwose.

• All woodwose have hairy tails.

• All woodwose have hairy feet with large claws (and duclaws).

• Woodwose have horizontal pupils.

• Darkwood Woodwose have sharper claws and larger canine/tusks, as well as more elaborate horns (usually).

• Night Woodwose have slightly starry fur and more circular horns.

Clothing

• Woodwose create their own clothing out of natural materials and fibres - wild animal furs, self tanned leathers, tattered fabric scavenged from travellers, rough cottons, plant fibres etc.

• Bone, nut and dried fruit adornments are common.

• Outfits are a combination of practical, and decorative.

• Woodwose love hiking, climbing and bouldering.

• They tend to be vegetarian.

• They are reclusive but will trade with travellers.
