You are tinkering about one day, working on a project, when you hear the mail getting dropped off at your front door.
Dear inventor,
This letter is a confirmation of your registration to the Crafter’s Workshop, being held in Skjolden by the Artificer’s Guild.
Enclosed in this envelope is your ticket. Please present it to the Automaton at the garage door when you arrive.

Safety Gear
You’re attending a workshop in Skjolden in the Autumn Duchy. Dress in something practical and comfortable for a day of working with your hands. Consider if you need any tools or safety gear as part of your outfit.
Design a practical outfit for your character to wear to the workshop.

You make your way to Skjolden, riding a tram into the heart of the bustling city. The scent of oil and metal lingers in the air as you step into the crafting district, where workshops and warehouses buzz with the sounds of industry.
Following the instructions on your note, you arrive at a towering steampunk building, its many grimy glass windows reflecting the weak sunlight peeking through clouds overhead. An immense garage door, large enough to accommodate an airship, dominates the building’s exterior.
Standing beside a smaller entrance set into the garage door is a copper automaton, sculpted in the form of a satyr. Its joints creak as it turns toward you in a slightly janky motion.
“Ticket, please!” it sings, gears whirring somewhere deep in its body. A small slot opens in its mouth as it watches you expectantly.
You slide your ticket into the opening, and the automaton promptly shreds the paper to bits.
“Welcome to the Artificer’s Guild! Enjoy the workshop!” the satyr declares jauntily before pulling open the door with a mechanical flourish, granting you entry.

Artificer Side Quest Two
Master Craftsmen
⚠️Characters must be level 2 to complete this mission!⚠️
Workshops are being held in the various rooms of the immense Artificer Guild warehouse. There are master craftsmen in attendance running various classes. Make your way to your chosen workshop and get a good seat at the front!
Gepetto (automaton) is teaching a workshop for Puppet Masters.
Wayland the Smith (stonefolk) is teaching a workshop for Armourers.
Goibniu (troll) is teaching a workshop for Weaponsmasters.
Nicholas Flamel (high fae) is teaching a workshop for Alchemists.
Leonardo da Vinci (nymph) is teaching a workshop for Tinkerers.
Heinrich Kunkel (salamander critter) is teaching a workshop for Pyrotechnics.
*We currently don’t have references for the Master Craftsmen. Please design/interpret them how you wish.

Artificer Side Quest Three
Unstable Prototype
An artificer-in-training in one of the workshops got a little ahead of themselves while crafting a clockwork golem, and now it's malfunctioning spectacularly. Gears grind, steam hisses, and the automaton thrashes wildly as artificers flee for their lives. Jump in and see if you can assist! Roll a d6 dice to see how you do.
If you rolled a 1: You try to help, but your tinkering and meddling makes the problem worse. The golem starts breathing fire, and its rampage destroys several projects in progress by other artificers. The golem eventually powers down on its own, but you’re covered in soot and the workshop is a mess!
If you rolled a 2-3: You manage to distract the golem, dodging its wild swings while shouting instructions to the artificers scrambling around you. With teamwork, you finally pull its power source loose, but the damage to the workshop is considerable.
If you rolled a 4-5: You quickly analyze the golem’s weak points and use your expertise to outmaneuver it. A few well-placed strikes (or a magical override) cause it to shut down without destroying the workshop. A job well done.
If you rolled a 6: You don’t just stop the clockwork golem - you fix it! With quick thinking and masterful engineering, you stabilize the prototype, turning it into a functional automaton instead of a rampaging menace. You receive an extra +25 fairy gold and an Arcane Core as a reward.

Blueprints
You find a set of blueprints, meticulously drawn, but in place of usual labels, they contain strange letters based on the Periodic Table of Elements. It's a puzzle meant for someone with knowledge of arcane engineering. It seems like you need to match the Four Principles of Artificing with their corresponding element.
Four Principles of Artificing:
Transmutation (transforming matter)
Stabilization (maintaining a steady state)
Resistance (withstanding force)
Conversion (moving or amplifying energy)

Lead (Pb)

Alternatively, draw or write about your character attempting to solve the puzzle.
If you have already solved the puzzle, roll 1d6:
If you rolled a 1: You can’t figure it out
If you rolled a 2-3: You succeed but at a high cost (or only partially succeed)
If you rolled a 4-5: You succeed
If you rolled a 6: You succeed wildly!

Repair Job

The Artificer’s Guild has received a commission for a critical repair job, and you’ve been selected to handle it. Is it a weapon, instrument, vehicle, toy, engine, automaton, or something else? The client is counting on your expertise to diagnose the problem, gather materials if needed, and restore the item to working order.
Draw or write about your character trying to fix a unique item for this repair job.

⚠️This is a partner quest! Recruit another artificer and include them in your quest submission or do a collab.⚠️
Two minds are better than one. The Artificers Guild has issued a special challenge: team up with another artificer and create something unique and extraordinary! What do you create? A set of explosive armour? A weapon attached to puppet strings? An alchemical mixture that creates unique effects when you give it to automatons? The sky's the limit.
Draw or write about your character and their project partner inventing something cool.

Salvage Run
A legendary artificers workshop was uncovered not long ago, and the wreckage is still hidden in the wilds. Enter the vast workshop and search for raw materials, technology and parts. But be careful! You never know whether the workshop is being guarded by devices - or creatures - that may still be active.
Draw or write about your character exploring an abandoned artificers workshop for materials.

Ghost in the Machine
One of your creations has started acting... odd (or, alternatively, a creation has had unexpected effects you did not intend). Maybe a suit of armour moves on its own and refuses to be taken apart. Maybe you swear you hear one of your puppets whispering in the dead of night. Maybe an alchemical potion you brewed has had the opposite effect it was supposed to. Is it a glitch, a haunting, or has it been infected by strange magic?
Draw or write about your character trying to deal with a malfunctioning invention.

After years of honing your craft, it’s time to create your magnum opus. This is the moment for you to push the limits of your skill and imagination. Design, invent, or create something truly extraordinary - a set of enchanted armour, a powerful weapon, the ultimate puppet to bring to life, a magnificent firework display, or even a battle bot that could change the tide of a battle. The possibilities are endless, but so is the potential for greatness. Choose your creation wisely. This will define your legacy as an artificer.
