It is not regrettable my title is custodian. For though I was chief engineer when working in my former post, I understand their politics and mores. A servant must not be given such a title to not intermingle and sully the dignity of their high-born blood, but they needed someone with the experience, education, and skillsets nonetheless and so here I am; remarkable how that is harder to come by than lines of blood. So I am happy to take the pay of the 'chief custodian' of the Khepresh over the 'chief engineer' of salt mine under any sun or moon, for it means the mouths of my three children will be filled with as many pomegranates as their cheeks can hold and my wife will smile every time she sees her jeweled raiment in the mirror.
