:Chart the slab you want out of the stone face or stone floor you want by scratching the rock.
:Using copper based tools strike the stone in a line the length of the marking.
:Repeat this until a crack is generated under the pressure.
:Once a crack is generated fit the crack with wedges of wood.
:Soak the wedges with water so they will expand.
:After the wedges dry strike the wedges with a hammer and the slab will split completely.
:Once the slab has been seperated chisel it down to the desired shape and smoothness or notches using chisel and hammer.
:Also one can light fire next to the desired point which will cause the slab to flake and create a more even edging.
:Bear in mind that after every single slab has been cracked the copper tools must be repaired and reshaped as they will wear down.
