The Circulation Department has a variety of items available to patrons to check out for their own use. Each of the items will have a sticker on them to let you and patron know how long the checkout is for, if the item can leave the library, and what the fine rate is. There is also equipment stored at the desk for staff use only.
Pictured below is a map of the desk behind the Circulation Desk that shows where each item is located.
The library has one older model Ti-83 calculator for students to check out for use in the library.
Both the Practice Presentation Room (the red bag) and the Multipurpose Room (the black bag) have their own respective kits. Each kit contains a presentation clicker, a marker set, and the remote for the room's camera. ALWAYS check and make sure that the bag is correct before checking out and discharge. We will reference these kits later during the room reservation training.
Loan Period: See section in room reservation training
Laptops in the vending kiosks are not always fully charged, so chargers are kept at the Circulation Desk. Always be kind and remind the user that this along with the laptops have a 4 hour check out period.
The library has a variety of computer dongles. Most of these are for use with the collaboration stations in order to allow different computers to connect to the display. However, there are also a few microphones that can be checked out. All dongles are either USB or HDMI.
While not considered equipment, the Circulation Department does have a lost and found bin. Notify a supervisor any time an item of value comes in (wallet, credit card, expensive jewelry, etc). We try to hold on to valuables for only a brief period before turning them in to the police station. Any TexanCards found need to be turned in to the TexanCard Office.
Within each of these kits is a pair of scissors, a ruler, and a glue stick for patrons to use.
Loan Period: Due 30 minutes before close
The library has a variety of tools for staff use only. These are mostly for taking down shelves... but some come in handy when someone decides to jam the three hole punch with a stack of papers that will NEVER work....
Tripods- 3 small, 1 large
These items are separate from the cameras and therefore accrue additional fines. Make sure to check inside all camera bags when being returned to make sure there is not a small tripod inside.
