Faxing documents is one of services that you will process from start to finish at the desk. Guests have the ability to send and receive faxes from the fax machine located behind the Circulation Desk. For those who are wanting to receive a fax, prior arrangements should be made with staff. Documents that are faxed to us our generally shredded at the end of the day. Our fax number is 254-968-9468.
Cost:1-5 pages is $1.00
Each additional page after 5 is $0.25
EXAMPLE: 7 pages would be $1.50
Note: Each time we receive a fax or dial a number, it is considered a transaction. If someone wants to fax 2 pages to two different numbers, it would cost $2.00 since it is two different transactions.
Before beginning the faxing process, verify with the patron that they are paying with either cash or Texan Bucks. (Remember: Always verify that they have money on their card by checking it on the machine next to Circ 1 and 2. Students often think that they can use their print money for faxes which is incorrect!) Write down the number the patron wants the fax sent to on a scratch piece of paper.
2. Fill out the "Fax Service Log" binder located next to the fax machine. As you can see, the top section is a good reminder on what you have to enter for long distance numbers, local numbers, and faxing on campus.
3. Place the fax face down into the top tray. (Note: This fax machine only sends single sided documents, NOT double sided.
4. Dial the number as indicated by the binder. For example: For a long distance fax you would dial 8+1+the number the person provided.
5. Hit "Fax Start"
6. Wait until you receive a confirmation page indicating that the fax was transmitted successfully. Give the sheet along with the originals to the patron and proceed to billing the fax account as you learned previously.
