Below you can find the information about the Circulation policies from the library website (https://www.tarleton.edu/library/aboutus/circulation.html). Familiarize yourself with these policies (especially the tables for Checkout Limits and Collections, Loan Periods, and Fines Rates). Many of the answers for questions we get on policies can be found here. Some of this information will be highlighted in further sections.
Lost and Found
Lost and found items are kept at the circ desk and turned over to the PD weekly. There is a log in a binder that inventories the lost and found items, that binder also has the policies and procedures for lost and found items. Please pay close attention to this log when dealing with lost and found items.
The directions in the binder will tell you what to do with everything that's turned in.
EVERYTHING gets logged in the binder
Texan cards go in the plastic sleeves, log them in the binder, and you send an email to admin with the patrons name.
Wallets, credit/debit cards, and phones are logged in the binder, you send an email to admin, and then you give the item to your supervisor.
Important medical documents are logged in the binder and then put in the brown file folder in the Evening Supervisors office.
Any other document goes in the recycling bin.
Every other lost and found item is logged in the binder and placed in the lost and found bin in the same cabinet as the binder.
These items then get taken to the police department by admin after a certain amount of time.
