August, 2026
On 15-16 August 2026, KMUTT President, university executives, and the Center of Innovation for Society (CIS) team visited Satun Province to present and review the progress of the Satun Social Lab and discuss the next stage of collaboration with local partners.
During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Suvit Sae-Tia, President of KMUTT, joined the signing of an MOU with Satun Province, Satun Provincial Administrative Organization, and the Satun UNESCO Global Geopark Office. The collaboration strengthens joint efforts in human capacity development, academic cooperation, research, and area-based development, while supporting the continued advancement of Satun UNESCO Learning City and Satun UNESCO Global Geopark.
Assoc. Prof. Suvit Sae-Tia, together with Assoc. Prof. Sakarindr Bhumiratana, University Advisor, and KMUTT executives also discussed the progress of past collaborations and future directions. KMUTT will continue to contribute its knowledge and expertise in science, technology, innovation, and creativity to strengthen local capacity — from lifelong learning skills through Satun UNESCO Learning City and hands-on creative skills through Satun Make, to creative entrepreneurship development through the New Breed of Graduates Programme.
The executives also reviewed ongoing work and exchanged ideas with the CIS team, led by Asst. Prof. Karuna Kluabmongkol, Pote Nilsa-ard (CIS Senior Advisor), and Arunothai Sarikakham, on how the CIS can further connect learning, research, innovation, and area development, while expanding partnerships across Thailand and Malaysia.
This collaboration marks another step from “working on projects in Satun” towards “developing Satun together” — using knowledge, lifelong learning, and partnership to create new opportunities for local people and strengthen Satun’s development towards greater national and international recognition.
