Another day, another workshop with DIPS! This workshop is a big opportunity for the students as two successful studios are teaching them. CIS invites their partnerships, the Habits Design Studio and Deesawat Company to create the special workshop for DIPS students to design products that integrates the two studio’s work and materials like wood and technology.
Habits Design Studio, founded in 2004 by Innocenzo Rifino and Diego Rossi in Milan, is an industrial design studio with multiple experiences of international relevance. The team is composed by industrial designers, electronic and mechanical engineers, model makers, interaction and visual designers, architects with a multidisciplinary approach. Today, the works of this studio are focused on digital products, home appliances, industrial equipment, lighting, IoT, UX interaction and interfaces.
Deesawat Company, founded in 1972, is one of the leaders of the thriving wood industry in Thailand. They possess their own sophisticated wood working facilities to ensure the work of the finest craftmanship and the highest precision. Deesawat has always sought for innovative designs embarked on a downstream of diversification into flooring, doors and now they venture towards outdoor furniture.
DIPS students and teachers had a conference call with both studios last May 17 to launch the 6-month workshop and they have given the students their first task which is to create a poster or designs for each design brief that was introduced to them, and there were five, so they have to create five posters, one for each. These two studios will be helping the students to be creative and to apply all of their learnings beforehand to this project.
We shall look forward to seeing these students shine and reach their potential as they go through this workshop!
