September, 2026
On 11–12 September 2026, Asst. Prof. Pronyos Chattarakul, Head of the CIS, met with Jane Goodall’s Roots & Shoots Malaysia to explore future collaboration in developing learning and capacity-building programs for students and young people from both Thailand and Malaysia.
This aims to integrate Science & Technology, Sustainability, and Creativity into experiential learning opportunities through volunteering and internship programs, with a strong focus on real-world experience, and the development of essential soft skills for the future workforce.
This discussion builds upon the existing collaboration between Roots & Shoots Malaysia and CIS in Satun, particularly their joint work in developing a Learning Space within Satun UNESCO Learning City, connecting the university, local communities, and Malaysian partners through shared learning experiences.
Building on this foundation, CIS and Roots & Shoots Malaysia are committed to expanding their partnership towards student development and workforce capacity building, particularly through soft-skill development based on hands-on practice, community engagement, and cross-border learning experiences.
From Learning Space to Cross-Border Learning — connecting Thailand and Malaysia through people, knowledge, and shared experiences.
