Study, Observe, Adapt and Reflet (SOAR)
Partnership : DE Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Fablab Bangkok, SoA+D
Following the creative workshop at NP in May 2026, CIS, led by Pote Nilsaard, continued the learning journey in Bangkok through an intensive 5-day workshop in June 2026. During the programme, NP's students deepened their ideas through detailed design development, mockup refinement, and hands-on prototyping. They also had the valuable opportunity to work closely with experts and makers from the SoA+D, transforming their concepts into real prototypes and presenting their final ideas to experts. Beyond the studio, CIS also arranged industry visits to help students better understand how Thailand’s creative economy is evolving in practice. This workshop reflects the power of international experiential learning where cultural understanding, design thinking, making, and real-world exposure come together to shape the next generation of creative practitioners.

Stories Beyond Borders. Ideas Beyond the Classroom. What does it take to create content that connects with audiences across cultures? During this international field learning programme, students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic immersed themselves in Thailand's dynamic media and creative industries, exploring immersive experiences, meeting leading content creators and producers, and gaining first-hand insights into the rapidly evolving Asian media landscape. Working alongside KMUTT students, participants tackled real-world challenges, transformed ideas into creative communication concepts, and discovered how storytelling, technology, and cultural understanding shape the future of global media.

Essence of Thai Design & Techniques From Cultural Language to Contemporary Form
Partnership : Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Fablab Bangkok
Essence of Thai Design & Techniques Workshop was successfully conducted at Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore in May 2026, led by Pote Nilsaard together with students from the Design Innovation Program, SoA+D. Through this workshop, NP's students explored Thai design not only through traditional visual language, but also through contemporary Thai character, playfulness, warmth, informality, and everyday cultural expression. The ideas developed during the workshop will now continue into the next stage of design development and prototyping in Bangkok. A special thanks to FabLab Bangkok for co-conducting this inspiring learning experience and helping create a meaningful platform for cross-cultural design exploration.
A Journey of Culture, Innovation & Friendship - JCIF
Partnership : Chiba University
The JCIF is more than an international program—it is an International Field Learning experience developed by CIS transforming communities into living classrooms and students into global collaborators. Throughout Thailand, in March 2026, students from Chiba University explored local fields alongside KMUTT students from diverse disciplines, creating an international learning environment where everyone became both a learner and a contributor. They learned directly from artisans, entrepreneurs, researchers, community leaders, and local residents. From creative industries and sustainable agriculture to cultural heritage, tourism, and micro-businesses, every field experience became an opportunity to understand how innovation emerges from real communities and everyday life. Through field observations, interviews, collaborative discussions, and reflection, they developed new knowledge and also empathy, intercultural communication, and the confidence to work across cultures.
