May 2022
COME WITH US! CIS is providing a 3-day workshop for DIPS students this May 20–23, 2022, which is the Sakon Nakhon workshop! This workshop will provide the students with a deeper understanding of the natural, cultural, beliefs, and daily lives of the people living in the Tao-Ngoi District.
The class had a productive afternoon! DIPS students, along with their lecturers, and also with their seniors, had an orientation at FabLab Bangkok, KX Building about the upcoming workshop, which was facilitated by the Center of Innovation for Society (CIS), Interior Architecture seniors, and Design Innovation seniors. They discussed the connected class with the workshop and introduced the workshop, what it is about, what the students will do, and the schedule. Senior students presented an introduction to Environmental Development, Corporate Identity Design, and Community Context. DIPS students showed they were excited about the workshop, and they were thrilled to know the activities, cultural experiences, and food experiences that they will receive in the workshop the facilitators had planned for them. We hope you stay tuned with us in this workshop!
Students will get to practice various data collection methodologies for the qualitative research approach and create their journey in a journal notebook, but in the meantime, they will conduct research on their chosen topic, which is the natural, cultural, beliefs, and daily life of the people in Sakon Nakhon City then complete the Tabletop Presentation for discussion. So, the students are divided into four groups, and these groups would learn together about their specific topic and be able to have the chance to share their learning with their classmates and also local community members. As a group, they would have to fact-check their research about the topic and do activities together isn’t that fun?
Not only would the DIPS students be learning about the community’s nature, culture, beliefs, and life, but they would also design a service or product out of the learning they receive from the workshop. We will exhibit all results from this workshop at the FabLab Bangkok, in July and we hope that you’ll be there!
