CIS with their partnership designer from Italy, provides aspiring designers from DIPS an opportunity to accumulate surface design skill.
Prototype is an early sample of a design of a product that needs to be further develop upon doing research, testing, and hearing the feedbacks from the potential users and other co-designers. Which is why it is a really important skill for designers to practice. Good thing for them, CIS offered extra classes for a special group to learn more about creating a model not only to impress the potential users but also learn how to include the visual, feeling and emotion into the model in order to create an aesthetic, functional and good product for the users.
CIS has offered to help students to practice prototyping and now they practiced by making prototypes of characters from the movie called “Fantastic Four”. They were tasked to create the models out of simple materials they can find at their own homes and these students did not disappoint their teacher as they were able to at least touch one of the needed appeals which is the visual, feeling and emotion through their models. Some created Ben which is the rock guy in the movie through using pebbles or orange color to describe his abilities and his look, some created Susan, or the invisible woman by putting plastic in front of the figure or by using a glass to metaphorically show her powers, fun right? So, you see they really went all in to create their imagination into reality, and they did great but of course they still need to practice and improve on being able to include the three major appeals for a prototype or a product, again the visual, feeling and the emotion to captivate the focus of the potential users or audience.
May they flourished more and also have fun learning this important skill!
