Windows 7 is the descendant of the infamous Windows XP. It is extremely deployed across many industrial tools for many years until a lot of companies having great difficulties migrating to Windows 10. Windows 7 is scheduled for end-of-life coming year 2020 and many is seeking to upgrade the industrial software to Windows 10 or OS-less.
When you have industrial software that is too expensive to migrate to Windows 10. In that case, it is better to virtualize (if possible) the operating system to ensure continuous production without disruption from hardware modernization.
However, it also signals you to start looking for alternative or hire some developers to upgrade your industrial software. Risking the operating system security is not worth it.
Use Windows 10. There is absolutely no reason for any consumer software to stay on Windows 7. The guides in this section are mainly for the current relic industrial equipements consumption only.
