March to Victory
Pacesetter's Scholarship
Summary: As the Student Body Vice President, I am responsible for the overseeing the Pacesetter Scholarship— part of the Albert C. Yates endowment dedicated for students who are setting the pace for what defines leadership at CSU. This year, we are dedicating $5,260 to the scholarship, which will be split evenly between two recipients. The recipients will be recognized in the Homecoming March to Victory Parade alongside Amy Parsons and Terrell Davis, and on the field during the Homecoming football game on the 26th. Those awarded will also be joining an impressive community of past recipients— CSU Board of Governor members, advisors to presidents, Senators, and national party chairs.
Future work: Market to leadership student groups, organizations, and classes; review applications; interview finalists; award scholarship; set up recognition.
Stakeholders & Beneficiaries: CSU students, ASCSU
Tour De CSU
Summary: Tour de CSU is a new tradition aimed at highlighting CSU's bike-friendly campus, while also serving as an opportunity for graduates, professors, and community members to share one final bike ride through campus before Spring graduates receive a diploma. It will also provide the opportunity for bike donation, so the number of bikes left on campus before the summer session will decrease – and the bikes will go to a good philanthropic cause!
