Summary: After attending the “All-In” Leadership conference as a Guest Speaker at Sand Creek High School alongside Morgan Wright and Nicholas DeSalvo, sponsored by CHSAA I held a conversation with one of the conference attendees who prompted the idea of “shadowing” collegiate student government leaders. This provided me the space to acknowledge that a program like such does not yet exist and could provide immense value to the next set of prospective Rams who also have a vested interest in becoming great leaders. Colorado State University, as we do with many other initiatives should be the first to implement such a program, keeping us ahead in every regard. Truly elevating the brand and value of Colorado State University.
Fostering in the “next” of anything is an act of mentorship and leadership that is critical to ensuring the rich history and cultural customs of a lineage, culture or organization are preserved. Colorado State University leaders must pour into the next generation of great leaders and successors. This also permits students great exposure to the Land Grant institution that so many of us know and love, which targets our constant efforts of student retention.
Holistically, the Quentin Fellowship program will provide high school students with the applied experience to develop leadership skills in their current state and as prospective rams.
Future work: Build out a budget plan to incorporate programming for this initiative in future years.
Stakeholders & Beneficiaries: Prospective rams, current members of ASCSU, CSU admissions, and Colorado High School Student Activities Association
