Summary: We hosted Polly Baca on Friday, October 4th to kick off our Trailblazer Series. Polly Baca is an inspiration and the epitome of a Trailblazer as she was the 1st Hispanic woman to serve in the Colorado Senate and the 1st Hispanic woman to serve in both legislatures nationwide. Furthermore, Baca served as the co-chair of the Democratic National Convention and was heavily involved in the campaign and service of both John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton. This event allowed students to hear her story and ask open-ended questions at the end! We look forward to hosting more events such as this in the future.Â
