These courses are hands-on, encouraging the creative use of hardware and software in various real-world contexts.
The courses progress through different levels, building skills in audio capture and manipulation, microphone techniques, mixing, and understanding the music industry. Learning takes place in contexts such as live performance, radio broadcast, composing for media, and multi-track recording. At the Advanced Higher level, students undertake project management and research, investigate advanced techniques like sound design and mastering, and critically evaluate their work in self-chosen creative industry contexts.
