If you have a child who you want to come to Valor next year and they are not already a student, or you have friends who are interested and would be a good fit for Valor, please encourage them to apply soon at ValorPrep.com/Apply! We will be opening up the application process to the general public in a few weeks after our first Open House on 11/6. If you have any interested friends who want to attend either of our Open Houses (one on 11/6 and one on 12/4), please have them email Bethany at Admin@ValorPrep.com!

We will be discussing the first six chapters and even if you haven't read that far there will still be some great conversations around parenting teens! More details about location and food signups will be communicated via email!
Partnership is at the core of Valor's unique, University-Model of schooling. We POSITIVELY couldn't do what we do--educate and disciple--without YOU! That's why we prioritize time to listen, pray, and discuss your child's growth once each semester. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held this year on November 14th, a Thursday. This will be a home-day off for the Grammar School, but you will need to arrange for childcare for your students while you take time out for this important conversation with each of your child's teachers. Sign-up links should have been sent in the Friday email you received from teachers. Please reach out if you have any questions, concerns, or need to reschedule.
This quarter begins a basketball unit in Mrs. Fatzinger's PE classes. Students are focusing on basic passing, dribbling, and shooting skills as well as the general virtues developed through sports: teamwork, determination, and grit. Ask your child to teach you what they've learned and, if you have a basketball net at home, schedule shooting practice as a movement break in between subjects. Don't forget to PLAY and remember the JOY of sharing special moments with them on your homedays. It's why we do what we do--to CONNECT!
In partnership with Point of Truth Church, Robinson, teachers and parents put on a wonderful pumpkin patch for our littlest students last Friday. In the late morning sun of our playground, they listened to a pumpkin story, decorated cookies, and painted pumpkins. What a wonderful way to spend a half-day!
Thank you for all the kind words, meals, cards, and gifts for Mrs. Ramsey. She will be back in the office full-time beginning on Friday, October 25th, but don't hesitate to reach out before then.
Mrs. Ramsey led chapel this week! We have begun memorizing Isaiah 43 for quarter 2 and learning to sing "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." This week in chapel, Mrs. Ramsey reviewed the Old Testament Timeline to give context for Isaiah's book. Review this simple progression with your child: Creation - Fall - Patriarchs - Exodus - Law - Judges - Kings - Exile
The Children's Concert for 4th & 5th graders will take place on Tuesday, November 12. There is more information for 4th/5th grade parents on the RSVP form. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Rucker. (jennifer.rucker@valorprep.com)
Logic School Parent/Teacher conferences will happen this year for the first time! The goal of Logic School at Valor is to provide a smooth and gradual transition into the Rhetoric School. This transition works best if parents and teachers partner together! The vision for these conferences is for classroom teachers and co-teachers to collaborate on goals for their student to grow academically and spiritually as well as take steps towards the independence required further on in their academic journey. Please make sure to sign up for a conference here.
