It's hot outside, but we are so thankful for new shade umbrellas, playground trucks, and flower pots on our playgrounds. A big shout-out to the Cork family who put together play kitchens, trimmed crape myrtles, and replaced boards on our tables. Are you passionate about discipleship through play? We have a new committee for those who are, too! Contact Marci Jobson at jobsonsoccer@gmail.com if you are interested.
It was such a joy to see so many wonderful smiling faces, both new and returning, on Valor's first day of school. The hallways were again filled, and laughter and learning wafted from classrooms. It was the smoothest first day I've seen as an administrator, and I give the credit to you, our parents, in preparing your students well, and to our gifted teachers who love your students deeply. Way to go, Valor Knights!
-Mrs. Ramsey
The report is that fifth grade students love their new spacious, quiet classrooms! Mrs. Steele is a master teacher who brings delight to any challenging math problem, and she will be helping parents with students in 2nd-5th understand the Singapore approach at the Parent University training night on September 4th. Do you want to get a head start? Consider purchasing the book We Didn't Learn Math this Way!
I am already loving my new role as Assistant Head of Upper School with my focus being on the Logic School. It is a delight to have your students back on campus! Seeing all the familiar faces and learning the new faces brings joy to my day. This week we are focusing on excellent habits, such as cleaning up lunch spaces after eating, and getting backpacks to the correct places. We will continue working on these habits over the next few weeks until these routines feel familiar and easy! - Mrs. Weathers

This is our annual update in regards to the asbestos management plan that we have had in place for our school building. All schools that have any asbestos containing materials in their building are required to maintain an asbestos management plan. We are required to perform regular inspections, internally, as well as periodically hire a licensed inspector.
We are required to inform all of our families that we have an asbestos management plan in place, and that document is available for you to view at any time. If you would like to look through this, please let Jared Nazarian know.
We have done extensive removal of asbestos throughout our building during our first several years at Valor. We have had a licensed inspector advise us on how to ensure we have a safe campus for our school community.
We have also had the building tested several times to see if there was any asbestos in the air. The air samples have all came back 100% clean!
We are confident that the school is a safe place for our students and faculty. We have done everything required and completed extra precautions.
