January 24th, 2025
Be sure to watch next week's newsletter for an announcement regarding the Bosque Square Village Property! A lot has been happening behind-the-scenes and there should be news to share next week.
Also, please save the date for an all school family prayer & worship meeting on February 12th, location TBD!
Speaking of next year's calendar, if you plan to join us, please know that re-enrollment for the 25-26 school year is due NEXT FRIDAY!
If you have a current student who will either be returning, or not returning, please let us know as soon as possible by logging in to the Family Portal and either enrolling, or selecting "Will not re-enroll." We have waiting lists already in several grades and while we would love to see everyone return, if you already know your student is not coming back, it's super helpful to us to know as soon as possible.
If your student is not returning to Valor next year, please click "Will not Re-enroll” as soon as you know.
If your student is returning (Yay!), then please let us know by enrolling them as soon as possible. Please note that there is a $210 non-refundable enrollment fee per student paid at the end of the re-enrollment process.
Please let Bethany Brown know (Admin@ValorPrep.com) if you have any issues with the enrollment process or any questions! Thank you!!!
Hey Valor family, in an attempt to raise some money for our Junior trip to Europe this spring, we are bringing back the ever-popular "free dress punch card" for a few dates in the spring. If your student would like to come in free dress (not in their uniform) on Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and senior's last day on campus -- buy a free dress card TODAY! It could be a great stocking stuffer! Cards are $15 each and all the money goes towards our student trips.
Parents & grandparents! Come and pray over students & staff on Friday, February 7 directly after drop off at 8:30am in the Valor Cafeteria.
TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE for our 2nd Annual Boots & Bows Father/Daughter Dance at Old Bethany Events on Friday, February 21 at 6:30pm!
Valor students PK-6th grade are invited to attend!
Please see this document for more details and to purchase tickets!

A discussion with the Murrays
This week, Mick and Stephanie sat down during our Parent University afternoon for Grammar School co-teachers to offer theological context and practical ideas for Sabbath-keeping for families.
Listen here if you missed out. I guarantee you will be blessed!
A Note from Mrs. Ramsey
One of the joys of school days is watching friendships develop, especially with new students whom we've only months ago welcomed into our community. Aristotle wrote that "friendship is a slow ripening fruit." It takes time, and often a loving guide like a parent or teacher to help young relationships to thrive. Even so, sometimes a hurtful word or a feeling of exclusion can turn them sour.
Ask your child how friendships are going this year. Has he or she met anyone new? What are some simple acts they can do the next school day to invite another person in to play or talk or eat with them?
💙 Brooke Ramsey
Our very own Upper School music teacher, Alan Hollinger, will be singing in the Thursday/Saturday cast (Feb 6 and 8) of Baylor's Hansel and Gretel opera this February. This is a wonderful fine arts enrichment opportunity for the whole family!
This year, Grandparent's Day is Friday, April 11th. In partnership with Family Ministries, the Grammar School has already begun planning this meaningful event which showcases your child's work to the ones you love. Would you like to serve as the committee head or volunteer, helping to coordinate or serve on this beautiful day? We need YOU!

Spotlight on the Quadrivium:
Picture #1 - Valor sophomore, Gavin M., is building a 3D house model for a forthcoming art competition. In order to streamline the process, he modified a digital 3D model of a cutting jig (the blue device in the photo) for his rotary cutting tool and had Valor senior Johnathan C. 3D-print it for him.
Pictures #2-#4 - In physics class, Valor juniors (Nariah S., Emma G., Bear G., Bennett H., and Holdyn B.) modeled the wonder of centripetal force by spinning cups of water over the head without spilling them.
We celebrate the ingenuity of our students in technology, math, and science!
Just a few more spirit week pics because why not?!?!

Hello Valor Family! With the year starting some changes have been put into place. One of the changes is that the yearbook will be run by students taking the new journalism class this year. Some important information to note about the new yearbook this year:
Pre-order at www.treering.com. The passcode to buy the yearbook through Treering is: 1015196645893006.
As always, every family gets two free custom pages with the option to add additional spreads at 99 cents each. This is a great way to document home days and other activities.
