If your child doesn't come out on time, we will ask you to move forward to the treeline pickup as indicated in the pictures. There are 6 cones with signs that say "Reserved for Treeline Pickup." Please park at one of those cones, and a staff member will bring your child to you.
Unless you are told to move to the treeline pickup, please do not use these parking spaces.
The new line for Athletics pickup starts today!! In order to pickup your athlete, please enter the St. Matthew parking lot and pull through the cones that will be located between the gym and the church. After you pickup your child, you will be able to exit from the St. Matthew lot on to New Road. Athletes will be released from the gym at through the new line at 3:45 on MWF and 3:30 on T/TH.
If you have Grammar or Logic siblings, please go through the main line first, pickup the siblings, and then exit the main line and re-enter the athletic pickup line. We would recommend waiting until close to the end of the line to pickup siblings so that you won't have to wait long for your athlete.
Remember to pull up close to the car in front of you while you are in the line to help as many cars stay off the main roads as possible!
For Logic/Rhetoric School morning drop-off on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, please drive through the carline and keep your child in the car until 7:50. At 7:50 we will allow all Rhetoric and Logic students as well as Grammar siblings to enter the building. Grammar siblings may enter the cafeteria and be supervised until they are released to class at 8:15.
Thank you, Valor Family, for helping us navigate a small parking lot with more students than ever this year!!! We appreciate you and your efforts!

This week was our first library day! First-, third-, and fifth-grade students were given an initial orientation to our sweet little library during their lunch time. The schedule should be posted on Google Classroom. Bible Readers are also going home this week to first graders. Are you passionate about helping students love reading? Contact Lawrie Bomar at lawriebomar@gmail.com if you are interested in volunteering with our library or email your child's classroom teacher if you'd like to come read to their class!
This year, the Grammar School is starting out Quarter 1 with a study of birds. Alongside their home days of learning from The Nature Connection, first-fourth graders are learning to draw specific birds, narrate beautiful picture books, and engage in hands-on experiences on class days. Don't forget to download the Merlin Bird app and check out this website so that your family can participate in the fun of identifying birds in your backyard or in the wild.
The first Grammar School chapel of 2024-2025 was this week! This year, first- through fourth-graders have assigned seating with their buddies, and fifth-graders are helping lead, set up, and greet students as they arrive. We sang our first hymn of the year, "All Creatures of our God and King," encouraged Rowan Thompson, recited Scripture, and worshiped through song and declaration. Students were reminded that God's grace is available for help and forgiveness when they don't make the choice to listen to what's right. There are many competing voices in our heads, but three Valor values bind us together and reflect the law of Christ:
We honor others with respect and kindness.
We value excellence by giving our very best.
We obey quickly, completely, and cheerfully.
Try using these in your home to add consistency and clarity to your child's discipleship, and don't forget to pray! -Mrs. Ramsey
In chapel this past week, Valor Logic School students were assigned chapel "family groups", introduced to our chapel liturgy, and learned our first hymn of the year, "All Creatures of Our God and King." Mrs. Weathers spoke to students about how the carefully cultivated habit of attention can lead to rightly ordered loves. Students considered the differences between "Cogito ergo sum" (I think, therefore I am) and "Amo ergo sum!" (I love, therefore I am).

If you ever need to get new Valor gear, we have lots of shirts and sweatshirts available and www.valorspiritshop.com. We typically only place one order per year, so what we have now is what we will have for the year. Not all sizes are available in all styles, but hopefully you can find what you need. When you order something, we will do our best to fulfill it within a week and deliver it to the front office where they will send it home with one of your students. If you need to exchange anything or make returns, please don't hesitate to reach out. You can email Lauren.Allbritton@valorprep.com with any spirit shop concerns!
On the first day of school, our seniors wore their class shirts that they designed together in the spring. They also went and got "little kid backpacks" to use for their last first day of high school. We have a GREAT group of seniors!
