January 31st, 2025
We wanted to report that we completed a successful lockdown drill today. Many thanks to our Faculty, Staff and Students for their diligence in completing our drills well!
Re-enrollment for the 25-26 school year is open and your student's current place in the next grade is secure up until the enrollment deadline of today!
If you have a current student who will either be returning, or not returning, please let us know as soon as possible by logging in to the Family Portal and either enrolling, or selecting "Will not re-enroll." We have waiting lists already in several grades and while we would love to see everyone return, if you already know your student is not coming back, it's super helpful to us to know as soon as possible.
If your student is not returning to Valor next year, please click "Will not Re-enroll” as soon as you know.
If your student is returning (Yay!), then please let us know by enrolling them as soon as possible. Please note that there is a $210 non-refundable enrollment fee per student paid at the end of the re-enrollment process.
Please let Bethany Brown know (Admin@ValorPrep.com) if you have any issues with the enrollment process or any questions! Thank you!!!
Be sure to you email next week for an announcement regarding the Bosque Square Village Property! A lot has been happening behind-the-scenes and there should be news to share next week.
Also, please save the date for an all school family prayer & worship meeting on February 12th, location TBD!

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.
(Jaques, Act 2 Scene 7 of As you Like It)
January is Shakespeare month, and our 2nd-5th graders have enjoyed taking some time out during read-aloud times to act out their grade-level plays. Soon, they will share or perform them for their buddies. Consider taking some time out to watch one or two BBC Shakespeare films or check out this page to learn more about his plays and why they've endured the test of time.
Grammar School teachers and room administrators will host simple Valentines Day celebrations on February 14th. Bags to store Valentines until the end of the day will be provided. Please send your child with a Valentine for each classmate.
At Valor, we are brothers and sisters and school family! 💙
If your student signed up to audition for the speech music meet, they are exempt from Quarter 3 presentations, but auditions are in a few weeks! If auditioning for a vocal or instrumental performance, please email a video audition to: Jennifer.Rucker@valorprep.com NO LATER than Tuesday, February 19th. If auditioning for a narration or recitation piece, Mrs. Ramsey will pull them out of classes one-by-one on Friday, February 21st. Announcements will be made by end-of-day on Friday for those chosen to perform in the following chapel on February 26th.

CALLING ALL VALOR SPORTS FAMILIES
Youth Sports Summit at Baylor's Truett Seminary
Youth sports have become a $37 billion industry in the United States. This athletic boom presents unique challenges for Christian communities (i.e. Valor), parents, coaches, and athletes. Everyone feels the crunch. How do parents and coaches provide a space for young athletes to experience the joys and development of sports while navigating the pressures and potentially harmful excesses?
Join Brian and Linsey Smith (former collegiate athletes, 15+ years in youth sports ministry and author of The Christian Athlete) and other leaders for an interactive conference and workshop focused on how to practically help our athletes live out a biblical perspective on athletics and engage in the gifts they are given to glorify God.
Athletic Trainer: Tammy Marton
Tammy has already been a huge help for our athletic department and we are so thankful to have her in our community. Her office hours for all JH/HS athletes are:
Monday/Wednesday: 2:45pm-4pm
Tuesday/Thursday: 10:30am-12:30pm
Friday: 2:45pm-4pm

Hello Valor Family! With the year starting some changes have been put into place. One of the changes is that the yearbook will be run by students taking the new journalism class this year. Some important information to note about the new yearbook this year:
Pre-order at www.treering.com. The passcode to buy the yearbook through Treering is: 1015196645893006.
As always, every family gets two free custom pages with the option to add additional spreads at 99 cents each. This is a great way to document home days and other activities.
