We have two hot lunches left for this semester in December, but fewer orders than normal. Please log in through either the App or the Family Portal and double check that you have ordered for those days by 11/29, if you want your student to have either Fuego or Panda Express.
Also, hot lunch ordering for the Spring semester is now open as well! If you have any questions about hot lunch, please email Kym.Stanford@ValorPrep.com. Thank you!
This year marks the beginning of a journalism/yearbook class in Valor's Rhetoric School. Every two weeks the students taking this class plan and write a newspaper for the students. What follows is a link to the most recent newspaper published this last Wednesday. We thought the parents would enjoy a peek into what Valor life is for the rhetoric students.
If you have any questions, please email Emily.Edwards@ValorPrep.com. Thank you!!
December 9th | 3:45pm - 5:00pm | Upper School Village

We'll be wrapping up our Parent Book Club: Age of Opportunity (chapters 7 - end) on Wednesday, December 11 from 11-1pm at the Heller's home.
Let us know you're coming here and we'll send an email with more details and an opportunity to sign up to bring something for the lunch potluck!

Our last book club was so sweet and filled with great discussion and food! Even if you do not have time to read all the chapters, we hope you will consider hopping in and joining our parent book club conversations!
The final day for donations is 12/9! The class who brings the most amount of donations wins a pizza party!
Click HERE for arrival times, dress, and practice details for the program on December 11th at Harris Creek Baptist Church.
After Thanksgiving break, the Grammar School will begin studying our very own Sarah Nazarian's advent guide 25 Names of Jesus during Bible time. Homeday copies will be linked on the Home Assignment Sheets, but if your family would like to participate in this simple, but powerful journey toward Christ on weekend days and beyond Valor's Christmas break, December 18th, then purchase HERE.
Last year, Valor's Grammar School hosted its first ever Speech Meet during a February chapel, and it was a huge success! Students in 2nd-5th grade are eligible to audition for the competition in one of the three categories: recitation (poetry or Scripture), narration/historical speech, and musical (vocal or instrumental) performance. Students who sign up before December 18th HERE will be exempt from Quarter 3 classroom presentations.
If you haven't already, purchase and read our Grammar School parent pick, Teaching from Rest, to participate in book studies during the co-teacher training on January 22nd.

Valor Knights Athletics Celebrate a Remarkable Fall Season!
Dear Valor Family,
As we wrap up an outstanding fall season, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude for the incredible support shown to our athletes and teams. This season has been one for the record books, with both our girls' and boys' cross-country teams finishing 3rd in state, our football team securing a spot in the playoffs, and our volleyball team winning their district and advancing to the playoffs. These accomplishments stand as a testament not only to the athletic ability of our students but also to their growth in grit, determination, teamwork, and perseverance. Our students have truly embraced the call to do all things with excellence and for the glory of God.
At Valor, we aim to be a community that not only celebrates wins but seeks to honor Christ in every action on the field, court, and track. We understand that the success of our students would not be possible without the commitment and sacrifice of their families. Thank you for supporting their athletic journeys and for being the foundation on which they can thrive.
As we look toward future seasons, I’d like to share a few ways we can continue strengthening our community and advancing the vision of Valor Athletics:
1. Celebrate Every Player: Whether on the court, field, or track, each athlete has a unique role that contributes to our teams. I encourage you to know the names of each player and celebrate them in whatever capacity they serve. Every role is vital, even if it doesn’t make the scorebook, and your support will uplift them and remind them of their value.
2. Encourage Fellow Fans: Look for opportunities to connect with other families in the stands. The busy demands of home days, work, and raising a family can be exhausting, and a kind word from a fellow parent can be the encouragement someone may need. We are in this together, not just as fans but as a community called to uplift and strengthen each other.
3. Inspire Your Athlete to Compete for the Lord: Let’s remind our athletes that their gifts are meant to serve and build up the team. As a family, discuss how they can use their talents to contribute to the team’s overall success. Not everyone will have the most points or the longest runs, but each contribution—whether on the scoreboard or in unseen ways—glorifies God and strengthens our community. As Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 12, we are one body with many parts, and each role matters deeply.
Valor Athletics strives to foster a community that not only wins on the field but keeps an eternal perspective in everything we do. Let’s continue building on this season’s successes and remain a people who, even in the weariness of life, choose to honor God in all we do for the good of our students and the legacy of Valor.
With gratitude,
Coach Byrd
Athletic Director, Valor Preparatory Academy
League Basketball
The season will run December - February. Games will begin in early January. Due to our limited gym space, gym space is being secured at various locations and will operate around 3-6pm between Monday - Thursday. Practices are not permitted on home days before 3pm per survey feedback. I will send out a signup sheet of gym times & locations to the coaches of the league teams.
Our game scheduling information has been sent to the private school league. Due to the number of home district games we have on Tuesdays, there is a possiblity some of our "HOME" games will be conducted at Vanguard's second gym. We are greatly appreciate of MS AD Will Curtis being willing to open up their space to us. We would ask that if you have a home game at that gym to assist in concessions, scoreboard, book, gate, etc...
League Sports can't happen without involvement from our Valor Families.
Thank you!
