For this project, we were first assigned to draw three views of one of our shoes. I chose my hightop white vans because even though they're kinda boring, they have little details that I had to add. We were then assigned to choose a specific section of our shoe and draw it "zoomed in;" As if you were looking at your drawing through a magnifying glass. Then we would repeat that step three more times with the same section and then create an abstract drawing out of one of the zoomed-in views, I chose the third view under "Zoom & Crop." The materials I used for all of my drawings was a regular pencil, a thin black sharpie, and Crayola markers.
The elements of art I included in my drawings was lines, color, pattern, and positive space. In my three views of my shoe drawing, I made sure to add the little stitching lines, curves of the shape of my shoe, and the pattern of my laces. In my final abstract shoe drawing, I included the positive space of my drawing to make a small statement of what was going on. The negative space is black, like space, and the positive space is everything in space; the main subject of my drawing.
At first, I had an idea of doing a day time and night time scene with a sunrise and sunset, but then I couldn't use acrylic paint, so it wouldn't have worked out the way I would've wanted it to. I experimented a few other ideas, but then I was thinking, "this is supposed to be abstract." So, I incorporated space into the mixture because like previously stated before, I love sunsets, sunrises, and the sky in general. I came up with an idea to make it seem like the planets were being dropped into the sky from oozing colors. Then the little rectangles to act as stars. I wanted to try something different, so I'm not disappointed in how my artwork came out, but it could definitely be better; and I wish I had done some other sunset idea. My markers were also dying out so that didn't help either.
