Watercolors + Colored Pencils
9" x 12"
For this project, we were assigned to create a realistic product of a duck of our liking. I chose a black-bellied whistling duck because I liked how they looked, and I was inspired by multiple images of this species of duck swimming in the water.
The materials I used for this project were watercolors and colored pencils. I started out drawing the duck and then moved to doing the water as the background because it would've been hard to go over the watercolors if I did them first.
The process I went through creating my work was, at first, I thought I wanted to do a duck flying in the sky, then I thought I wanted to do a duck in the grass, but finally decided on a duck in the water. I'm not a huge fan of realistic art, so I didn't totally enjoy this project a bunch, but it was cool, who doesn't like ducks.
