Dear Samakee Community,

What an absolutely incredible week it's been at St Andrews Samakee International School! I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt thanks to our amazing teachers who have worked tirelessly to create some truly memorable experiences for our children.

We began with our Move on Morning – a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to look ahead and think about the exciting possibilities that await them next term. It's always inspiring to see our children engage with their futures in such a positive way.

Then came our fabulous swim gala! The organisation was superb, and watching our children demonstrate their skills to such an enthusiastic audience of families was an absolute joy. The pride on their faces – and yours – was unmistakable!

Today, we were treated to a spectacular Talent Show, brilliantly organised by Shakespeare House. Our children took to the stage with confidence and flair, showcasing their amazing talents. It's moments like these that remind us just how gifted and brave our young people are.

Behind the scenes, Wednesday saw our staff come together for an INSET day to welcome new teachers and prepare for the academic year ahead. It's this kind of thoughtful preparation that ensures we continue to provide the very best for your children.

And I must mention Tuesday evening's staff party – a well-deserved chance for everyone to relax, have fun, and celebrate together after all their hard work!

Thank you to every member of our team for their dedication, creativity, and the genuine care they show our children every single day.

Swim Gala

Congratulations to all our swimmers who took part in this year's Swim Gala!

The event was filled with energy and house spirit, with students and parents creating a fantastic atmosphere throughout the day. It was wonderful to see the progress our swimmers have made since the start of the year, from mastering new strokes to swimming longer distances and showing improved starts from the diving blocks.

Samakee Library Updates

We kindly ask families to check at home for any library books and return them by Friday, 4th June.

Books not returned after this date will be considered lost and a replacement fee of 500 Baht per book will apply. End of Year Reports may also be temporarily withheld until outstanding books are returned or paid for.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us care for our library collection.

Trash Lucky

Thank you for all of the hard work, the bin has just been emptied and Trash Lucky have written to us -

Grade B - 75% recyclables in the bin, decent sorting with a fair amount of general waste mixed in

Common Types of General Waste Found:

Non-recyclable materials not accepted by TL (Other PET 1)
Poor sorting quality, making further separation impossible
Mixing various plastics type in one bag = General Waste

Please check your submission history in the app, to see if there were any problems with your recyclables.

Important point - only one type of material in each bag, especially plastics - ensure PET 1 written on (generally clear plastic bottles and some other clear plastics)

Teaching and Learning Highlights!

Move-on Morning

This past Tuesday, June 2nd, our campus was buzzing with excitement for our Move-On Morning!

It was a wonderful opportunity for all of our students to take a sneak peek into their future. They officially transitioned into the classrooms they’ll be joining this coming August, met their fantastic new teachers, and started building those all-important peer connections.

KS1 - Omelette Writing!

As part of their EBL learning, the children planned and wrote the instructions for making an omelette before heading into the kitchen. Having a real purpose for writing made the activity meaningful, exciting, and fun!

By sequencing their ideas and using their phonics knowledge, the children developed their writing skills while building confidence, independence, and critical thinking. The best part? Enjoying their delicious omelettes afterwards!

Y5 - Farm Trip

A wonderful morning spent at the Samakee farm! We spent time feeding the miniature goats, pond dipping for frogs and using our imaginations to create inventions in the mud pool and mud kitchen.

Robot Championship

Proud moment! Our Reception student earned 2nd Runner-Up at the Nakhon Pathom Robot Championship 2026. Congratulations on this fantastic achievement!

Well done to our Samakee Stingers who competed at the 3 day Thailand Swimming Championships last weekend.

A fantastic weekend of Swimming - lots of Personal Best times smashed as well as school records broken.

Artist of the Week!

Artist of the Week goes to a Year 6 student whose unwavering dedication and focus shine through in every art class. Her exceptional skills consistently lead to superb outcomes across all projects. In the run-up to our recent art exhibition, she demonstrated immense progress, showcasing both remarkable independence and vibrant creativity. Fantastic work!

Safeguarding Spotlight: Transitions and Emotional Wellbeing

Following our exciting 'Move on Morning' activities this week, we wanted to remind families that transitions can affect children in different ways. We recognise that transitions – whether moving to a new class, a new year group, or even a new school or country – can affect children in different ways. Some may feel excited, whilst others might experience anxiety or uncertainty.

What you can do at home:

Keep conversations open about feelings and any worries your child might have
Maintain some routine during the holidays whilst also allowing plenty of time to rest and recharge
Watch for any changes in behaviour or mood that might indicate your child is struggling
Remember that we're here to support you – please don't hesitate to reach out if you have concerns
