What a busy and brilliant week as we reach our well-earned half-term break! School will be closed next week, and we return on Monday, 9th March. We hope you all enjoy a safe, restful and fun-filled half-term break with your families.

Middle School Production - The Wizard of Oz
On Thursday morning, our Middle School students brought the yellow brick road to life with their spectacular performance of The Wizard of Oz. Families and friends were treated to an unforgettable show as our young performers sang, acted and danced their way through this beloved classic.
We are incredibly proud of all the children and their teachers who have worked so tirelessly to create such a memorable production. Thank you to everyone who came to support - your applause and encouragement meant the world to our young stars!
Chinese New Year 2026
Today, the whole school celebrated the Chinese New Year with a wonderful day of cultural activities and learning. Our students:
Learned the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy with cultural specialists
Discovered the fascinating history and significance of the Lion Dance
Participated in hands-on activities with their teachers throughout the day
Enjoyed a delightful garden picnic featuring the ever-popular Chinese buns and dim sum
It was wonderful to see our students engaging with different cultures and traditions, and the garden was filled with excited chatter and happy faces!
Parent Consultation - February 2026
This week's Parent Consultations were a great success, and we thoroughly enjoyed meeting with so many of you. These conversations are invaluable in helping us understand your child's progress and work together to support their continued development.
Thank you to everyone who attended and shared your insights with us - your partnership makes such a difference to your child's learning journey.
EYFS - Cooking Sausages on the Farm!
The children had an exciting opportunity to cook sausages over the fire at the farm. They learned about fire safety and discussed how heat changes materials.
This experience linked to working scientifically as the children observed how the sausages changed when heated — noticing colour, texture and smell. They talked about cause and effect (what happens when food is placed over heat) and made simple predictions about when the sausages would be cooked.
The activity also encouraged careful observation, discussion, and an understanding of safety when using fire. It was a fantastic hands-on learning experience that combined science, responsibility and real-life skills.
Middle School - Art
Middle school students have been working on a variety of exciting projects over the past few weeks. Some have explored nature themes alongside an introduction to colour theory. More recently, each class has focused on artwork inspired by the production of The Wizard of Oz.
Year 3 students have been creating vibrant lollipops, Year 4 have been working on detailed landscapes, and Year 5 have been painting striking monochromatic emeralds. All of the projects have been a great success.
Year 3 - Flower Garland
Hands-on learning with beautiful results! Our Year 3 students had a wonderful time learning the art of making traditional Thai flower garlands (Phuang Malai). From threading each flower with care to creating the patterns, we are so proud of their focus, patience, and creativity.
Year 4 - Acting Skills
This week year 4 have been focusing on developing our acting skills. We have enjoyed playing lots of drama games to help build confidence and expression, and we have been working hard on being ready to say our lines. The children have been practising concentration and thinking carefully about how we say our lines, as we prepare for our production. Well done everyone for your fantastic effort!
Year 5 - Future Lovelaces in the Making!
Our Year 5 students channeled their inner Ada Lovelace today! They tackled a high-stakes scavenger hunt using the same core skills the world’s first programmer championed: Decomposition, Pattern Recognition, and Abstraction. The puzzles were tough, but our young innovators proved that logical thinking is a superpower!
Upper School
The Upper School hallway is featuring an interactive bulletin board titled “Powerful Words, Powerful People! Who Said This?” Each day of the week presents a famous quote along with multiple-choice answers and a clue about the speaker, encouraging students to guess who said it. From inspiring thoughts about art, music, and laughter to reflections on life, the display promotes critical thinking while helping students learn about influential historical figures. It’s a fun and engaging way to celebrate the power of words and the people behind them.
Safeguarding Spotlight: Safer Internet Month
This month, we’re joining schools worldwide to promote safe and positive internet use.
What NOT to Share:
Teach your child the "Three P's": they must never share online: Passwords, Phone numbers, and Private details (like their school, address, or travel plans).
The Stranger Rule: Remind them that people online might not be who they say they are. They should never agree to meet up with someone they only know from the internet.
We are very proud of a Year 3 student who achieved 3rd place in a Scratch competition! This is a fantastic accomplishment.
Congratulations to a talented Year 5 student who has been awarded ABRSM Grade 2 Piano Performance, passing with Distinction and achieving an outstanding score of 145/150!
