Dear Samakee Community,
A gentle reminder to parents to please update your AQI app to include the new monitoring device installed at school. Thank you for your continued support — we were pleased to see a slight improvement in pollution levels over the past week. We will, of course, remain vigilant and continue to monitor conditions closely to keep our school community safe.
On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Trash-Lucky, with Khun Nat speaking to both children and parents about the new recycling point at school. His talk offered a powerful and thought-provoking insight into our shared responsibilities around plastic use and recycling, as well as explaining the Trash-Lucky initiative.
Khun Nat’s visit tied in perfectly with the Nightingale House event, also held on Thursday, which focused on using recycled materials. With an Art & Design theme, students from Year 1 to Year 9 worked collaboratively to create a shared design. We’re very much looking forward to unveiling this soon. Well done to all students and staff involved, and a special thank you to the Nightingale team for organising such a meaningful event. We are also grateful to our community for sending in recycled materials to support the project.
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited to welcome Doug Goodkin back to Samakee. Doug has visited us many times, providing professional development for staff and visitors, and sharing his passion and enthusiasm for music with our students. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic week of all things jazz! Coupled with Doug's visit, don't forget to get your tickets for the concert on Wednesday evening - Mr Ja and the Bangkok Consort Singers are absolutely inspiring and we are incredibly lucky to have here at Samakee.
Wishing you all a pleasant and restful weekend.
