Dear Samakee Community,
A heartwarming farewell to one of our own! This week, we welcomed back a former student, who stopped by to say thank you and goodbye before heading off to university in the UK. We're incredibly proud to see her taking the next step toward her dream of becoming a surgeon, and we wish her all the very best on this exciting journey!
Middle School & Upper School Stay Late and Day Trip Fun
On Thursday evening our Middle and Upper School students enjoyed an action-packed Stay Late event.
First students worked together in their house teams to take on the Annihilator Challenge, test their speed and skills in a range of Minute to Win It activities, and put their teamwork to the test in an exciting Scavenger Hunt around school.
In the afternoon, everyone had the chance to mix across Houses and choose from a variety of fun activities. Options included: Movie, Dance & Karaoke, Board Games, Colouring, Drawing & Friendship Bracelets, Sports and a Campfire with marshmallows.
The day ended perfectly with a yummy BBQ, giving everyone a chance to relax, refuel, and celebrate a fantastic day together.
The whole event was filled with laughter, friendship, and plenty of House spirit. Well done to all of our students for showing great teamwork, resilience, and enthusiasm throughout the day!
HarborLand Adventure!
The children and staff had an absolutely wonderful time at HarborLand today! It was the perfect way to end an exciting and enjoyable week, full of fun, laughter, and great memories.

Upper School spent the morning running round Thonburi solving a mystery and working as a team. Well done to all who took part in the adventure!
Understanding Your Child’s Unique Brain: A Parent Workshop with Dr. Wine

Humanities Day 2025 – Food for the Future
We are excited to announce that Humanities Day will take place on Thursday, 25th September AM
This year’s theme is “Food for the Future”, and students from Early Years to Year 9 will be exploring how the choices we make about food today shape the world of tomorrow for people, animals, and the planet.
Through engaging activities, discussions, and hands-on learning, the children will gain a greater awareness and understanding of the impact of food on our environment, sustainability, and communities around the globe.
It promises to be an inspiring and thought-provoking day for all!

Farmers Market PM
Reception - Maths
This week in Reception we explored different ways to show the number 3 and investigated 2D shapes.
We played a fun hoop game where the children threw three beanbags into the hoop and noticed all the different combinations — 2 in and 1 out, 0 in and 3 out, 1 in and 2 out. This helped us see the many ways to make 3!
We also explored triangles and circles, drawing pictures using only these two shapes and talking about their sides and corners. Later in the week, we practised sorting items by shape, size, and colour.
It was a wonderful week of active, hands-on maths full of problem solving and creativity!
Year 1 - Thai Alphabet
Year 1 students explored the Thai alphabet through interactive and creative activities. They listened to stories connected with similar consonant groups, such as บ-ป and ด-ต-ฒ, to strengthen recognition and understanding.
Hands-on activities brought the learning to life as students created mosaic letters from coloured paper and beans, along with fun alphabet-inspired art projects like making a paper snake for ง.
These joyful experiences not only reinforced writing directions but also sparked creativity and built deeper connections with the Thai language.
Year 5 - Blue John
Over the last week in English, Year 5 have been reading Blue John. A story about a child made from light and darkness in the shadow of a mountain. We used blindfolds to move around outside in both the light and the dark. Then in the classroom, we used blindfolds to allow us to open up our imagination. We listened to cave sounds, felt different kinds of rocks and even listened to 'In the Hall of The Mountain King' - a piece of music based on a boy named Peer creeping around the home of a troll named 'The Mountain King'. This allowed us to produce some fantastic imaginative writing about what it must be like to grow up inside a cave.
Year 7/8 - Nutrition
Our Year 7/8 students have been busy exploring the world of nutrition. Over the past few weeks, they have investigated what’s in food through nutrient testing experiments, and watched how enzymes break down starch to release glucose. To bring their learning to life, they then created their own stop-motion videos to explain how enzymes work. This unit has given students the chance to practise scientific enquiry skills, build their understanding of how the body digests and absorbs nutrients, and express their knowledge in imaginative ways.
Upper School - Coming Soon!
Last weekend, I visited the KYEEC programme in Khao Yai. I am excited to announce this new centre as the venue for the Upper School residential trip in February 2026. It has something to inspire all - outdoor adventure as well as their commitment to sustainability. I look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks!
U13 Football Team!
Our U13 Boys showed great determination, coming back strong in the second half but narrowly losing 7–5.
Afterwards, our Mixed Boys and Girls team played a friendly match, finishing with an exciting 2–2 draw. Well done to all players for their effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship!
Badminton Success!
Well done to one of our Year 6 students for their recent successes on the Badminton court!
Artist of the Week
Artist of the week goes to a year 8 student who has shown great focus and creativity in creating some wonderful Gargoyle's. He has experimented with pencil, pastel and charcoal. Great job!
