Last Monday, St. Albert had their IQA visit: Internal Quality Assurance visit. This is a type of accreditation visit scheduled by the Archdiocese. We hosted a team of four: our Assistant Superintendent, and three administrators from Archdiocesan schools. The team arrived at 6:45, and met with teachers, our leadership team, our administrative team, both of our priests, and parents from School Board and PTO. The team visited classrooms throughout the day and talked with our students. They reviewed our test scores, walk-through observations, our School Improvement Plan, and other reports that were prepared for them. At the end of the day, they presented some of their findings and will send a formal report in six weeks.
Some of the highlights at the end of the day report were:
Catholic Identity: The team was very impressed with the fact that we are very obviously a Catholic School: prayer tables, crucifix, prayers, and the way we talk to our students. (“While we walk through the prayer garden, say a little prayer of Thanksgiving for the spring weather we are having and the spring flowers that will be here soon.”
Next steps: A more in depth look at giving our students more meaningful stewardship projects. More of a focus on social justice.
Governance and Leadership: They loved that our culture seems very positive. They were impressed with our ability to problem solve together.
Next steps: More academic focus on PLCs
Academic Excellence: Our goals are clear, and they loved our MAP team and Blue Ribbon scores!
Next steps: Identify gaps and form instruction according to those gaps.
Operational Vitality: The team was impressed and excited for us that we are having the safety barrier film installed.
Next steps: Utilize Assistants, safety trainings
We have a lot to be proud of, and a lot to look forward to.
Go Vikings!

As we enter the month of March, we are excited to continue our Friendzy journey with the theme “Sorted Out”, focusing on the virtue of Respect. This month, our students will explore the importance of treating others with kindness, listening with an open heart, and honoring the guidance of parents, teachers, coaches, and friends.
Through engaging lessons and discussions, students will learn how respect strengthens relationships, builds trust, and reflects the love of Christ in our daily lives. By practicing respect, we recognize the dignity of every person and create a more caring and Christ-centered school community.
We invite you to join us in fostering this virtue at home by praying with your children.
Family Prayer for Respect:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the people in our lives who teach, guide, and support us. Help us to show them respect through our words and actions. Give us hearts that listen, hands that serve, and voices that speak with kindness. May we always honor others as Your beloved children. Amen.
We look forward to a wonderful month of learning and growing together in respect!

As we journey through Lent, we invite all of our Saint Albert families to participate in our school-wide service project, CRS Rice Bowl, led by our 7th-grade students. This initiative encourages prayer, fasting, and almsgiving while supporting those in need around the world. Each student has been given a Rice Bowl to take home. Please encourage your child to fill it with donations throughout Lent, and return it to school on Holy Thursday. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and live out the spirit of Lent through generosity and service. Thank you for joining us in this important mission!
Hunger Relief in the United States
Your donation to CRS Rice Bowl helps provide lifesaving support to more than 200 million people in more than 120 countries. But did you know your support also helps your local diocese?
Twenty-five percent of every donation stays in your community to fight hunger and poverty, while 75% supports Catholic Relief Services programming around the world.
Jesus, Bread of Life,
As we encounter you in the Eucharist this Lent,
nourish us with your love,
unite us in communion with our sisters and brothers,
showing us how we are connected.
Transform our hearts, that we may be moved to
share bread for life with our global family
and work for a world where all can thrive.
