Better Together: Home/School Communication
As educators, we know that communication between school and home is very important to a child's success in school. We are working to keep all parents informed through a variety of communications, such as, the Viking Voice, weekly newsletters, emails, Facebook, the online calendar, Tuesday folders, etc.
Communication between parents and teachers is best when the communication becomes collaboration. When parents and teachers work together, it better equips our children to reach their academic potential.
Of course, conferences with teachers can be held at any time. You don't have to wait for a "conference day" to discuss any concerns. If your child comes home and is upset about something that happened that day at school, please contact your child’s teacher and let us know at once. Addressing the situation immediately is the best way to get it resolved right away.
When parents and teachers are on the same team, our children are the winners!

Assistant Principal
The front office, administration, and teachers are moving towards no longer having early dismissals after 2:00. This is to encourage all students to remain in school until the end of the school day. We know that appointments can be challenging to schedule; however, this has become very frequent, and disruptive. Leaving early affects the teachers and students unfavorably.
In the future, we will only allow students to leave at the 1:50 class change or the end of the day with 2:40 announcements. Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience! Please continue to email Amy Baker at abaker@stalbert.org with any mode of transportation changes; for example: Bus to carpool.
You can also add our digital school calendar to your phone so you have the latest school dates at your fingertips. To add our Google Calendar, click HERE and then select the +Google Calendar in the bottom right corner.
Don’t throw those old school shoes and summer sandals out! St. Albert the Great Parish School, in conjunction with the Parish Social Concerns Committee, are collecting shoes for WaterStep between August 12-23. Students should bring shoe donations to school.
Please click here to read the Parent/Student Handbook for this school year. Each student needs a signed form turned in to their homeroom teacher no later than Wednesday, August 28th. Click here for the form to print and sign.
Walkers need to have this digital form on file in the school office for emergency purposes. (One digital form per family.)
If you are a current school family wanting to add a new student for the 2025-2026 school year, your priority application period is August 15-31, 2024. It is critical that we know how many new siblings there are before we start accepting applications from external applicants. To apply for enrollment, a completed application, specified supporting documents, and a $200/$210 non-refundable application fee, must be submitted between August 15-31. Applications do not guarantee enrollment. Each application/applicant is reviewed by our Admissions Team before confirming official enrollment status.
Please keep in mind that applications received after August 31st will be late and considered in the general application pool based on the order of priority criteria found on our website.
For more information about our 2025-2026 admissions process and to download our new student application, please visit https://www.school.stalbert.org/admissions.
If your child is currently enrolled at St. Albert, you DO NOT need to apply again. Once your child is in the school, we will roll over their enrollment each year. The information above only pertains to families that are adding a brand new sibling to the school.
If you have any friends or family who are interested in touring and/or applying for the 2025/2026 school year, please refer them to our school website (under the Admissions tab). We have made several changes to our application dates and admission policies. They will want to reference that information before applying.
For questions, contact Janelle Richardson at jrichardson@stalbert.org.

The PTO is looking for volunteers to plan and execute classroom parties for Halloween, Christmas and Valentine’s Day. Each homeroom needs 2 room parent volunteers who will use PTO funds for the parties. One lead room parent per grade will also be responsible for any extra communication or coordination with the teachers.
We are also looking for volunteers to coordinate treats on St. Albert’s feast day (Nov. 15) and St. Nick’s day (Dec. 6). This is a great opportunity for those who want to be involved but are unavailable during school day parties.
All volunteers must undergo a background check and complete the Safe Environment training.
