Safety In Our School
As we continue to cultivate a nurturing and enriching environment for our students, we would like to take a moment to emphasize the importance of safety in our school community. The well-being of every student, staff member, and family member is our top priority, and it is essential that we work together to ensure a safe and secure learning environment.
Yesterday, our teachers heard from Jason Pohl, with LMPD, and David Dahl with UofL Threat Assessment. Jason is a member of the St. Albert Safety Committee which meets once every other month to discuss ways we can continue to improve safety while we are in school and in church. They spoke to us about how we can help prevent violence by being able to identify threatening or concerning behavior. We also discussed positive mediations that can be used to help someone who might be struggling.
Two key takeaways from their presentation were that we all play a role in preventing violence in our community, and that early detection and reporting of concerning or threatening behaviors are key to prevention. Safety is a shared responsibility, and together we can create a positive and secure environment where all students can thrive.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a safe and welcoming place for all!

As Catholic parents and educators, we cherish the truth that each child is a precious creation of God, uniquely gifted and wonderfully made. This month, through our Friendzy theme, "Uniquely You," students will celebrate their God-given talents and strengths. Together, we will reflect on how these individual gifts enrich our school community and learn to recognize and affirm the uniqueness of others, just as God does.
Virtue of the Month: Honesty
Honesty is at the heart of who we are as followers of Christ. It calls us to speak the truth, act with integrity, and be authentic in our daily lives. This month, students will explore how honesty builds trust and strengthens relationships, and they will practice making truthful choices, even when it’s not easy.
We encourage families to continue this meaningful conversation at home. Take a moment to share with your child what makes them uniquely wonderful in your eyes and discuss how honesty is a cornerstone of your family’s faith and values.
A Prayer for Uniqueness and Honesty
Dear Lord, Thank You for creating us in Your image, each with our own unique gifts and purpose. Help us to use our talents for good and to live with honesty and integrity. May we always reflect Your love in our words and actions. Amen.

St Albert will have children’s author Alex Willan visit on Thursday, March 13th, at 1:00 for grades K-1-2. Alex is the author-illustrator of the Worst! picture book series and the Jasper & Ollie series, as well as the illustrator of Got Your Nose, written by Alan Katz. You can visit him online at AlexWillan.com. During his visit he will be discussing life as an author and an illustrator, as well as reading his newest book, Mermaids are the Worst! In this book, Gilbert the Goblin’s beachside vacation gets ruined by mermaids and their games in the side-splitting latest installment in The Worst! picture book series, where even the strangest of creatures can become the best of friends.

Due to publication costs, we have made the tough decision for families to purchase their own yearbook(s). You may have received an email from Inter-State asking if you would like to purchase a yearbook for the 2024-2025 school year. If you would like a St. Albert yearbook for this school year, you will need to place your order through Inter-State. You will have a choice between a hardcover ($26.00) or a softcover ($21.00). You will also have the choice of purchasing a yearbook for each child, or one for your family.
You have until March 14th to place your order. Yearbooks will be delivered in May. Click here to order.
*Eighth graders do NOT need to place an order as the school will provide a yearbook
for each eighth-grade student.
The 6th-grade class is working with Neighborhood Forest to provide free trees to each of our students. We are excited to help our school celebrate Earth Day 2025 by planting trees throughout our community. Parents will follow the link to place an order for a free tree for your child/children. The trees will be delivered to school and the 6th grade will send them home with your child before Earth Day. Neighborhood Forest has all the answers to your questions including what type of tree will be sent and how best to plant your tree. The deadline to order your tree is March 15, 2025.
As we journey through Lent, we invite all of our Saint Albert families to participate in our school-wide service project, CRS Rice Bowl, led by our 7th-grade students. This initiative encourages prayer, fasting, and almsgiving while supporting those in need around the world. Each student has been given a Rice Bowl to take home. Please encourage your child to fill it with donations throughout Lent, and return it to school on Holy Thursday. Together, we can make a meaningful impact and live out the spirit of Lent through generosity and service. Thank you for joining us in this important mission!
Hunger Relief in the United States
Your donation to CRS Rice Bowl helps provide lifesaving support to more than 200 million people in more than 120 countries. But did you know your support also helps your local diocese?
Twenty-five percent of every donation stays in your community to fight hunger and poverty, while 75% supports Catholic Relief Services programming around the world.
