Dear St. Albert families,
It was great seeing so many families at our Parent Orientation night last week! As we finish up our 3rd week of school, I hope your families have settled into a good, balanced routine of homework time, family time, and extracurricular activity time.
Throughout the next month, all St. Albert students will be taking Fall MAP tests- Measures of Academic Progress. We give MAP tests 3 times a year (Fall, Winter, and Spring) to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year and from year to year in the areas of Math, Reading, and Language Usage.
MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing. Since MAP tests provide immediate and accurate information about your child’s learning, it is easy for teachers to identify skills that students would benefit from, and plan instruction accordingly.
Teachers spend time preparing students at school to take the MAP test, and there are things you can do at home as well! Make sure your child gets a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast that will keep them sustained throughout the test. Leave plenty of time in the morning so that your child is not feeling rushed and stressed out before they get to school. It is also important to be on time for school, especially on testing days. If a student is late and their class has already begun testing- they will be asked to stay in the office until the class is finished. Students may bring a healthy snack to have on mornings they are MAP testing, along with their water bottles.
Thank you for all you do to prepare your student(s) for school every day!

Learning Coordinator
Tomorrow, Friday, August 30, we will be having a lock-down drill. This is a planned drill to practice what our school would do should we need to lock down our building and classrooms in case of an intruder. Our teachers will prepare our students, but we would love for our parents to partner with us in talking to your children about the upcoming drill.
We are PRACTICING in case there is an emergency and we need to be safe
Teachers will close and lock doors including the safety lock in each room
Lights will be turned off
Windows will be covered
Students will gather in a designated spot in the classroom and will remain silent until given the "all clear".
We have invited the Lyndon Police to join us, so there may be policemen on campus
Thank you for your support!
We will test our ability to notify parents and staff of a weather-related delay or closure via Flocknote this Friday, August 30, 2024 at approximately 9 AM. Dear Saint Albert the Great School Families,
As the new school year begins, we know that parents have already been hard at work helping their children transition. Supplies have been bought, forms completed, backpacks filled, and many pep talks have already been given. Your dedication is vital to everything that happens this year, and we deeply appreciate all that you do.
With this in mind, we are hosting an evening to help you transition into the new school year. Please join us on Tuesday, September 17th at 6 PM in the Parish Life Center (PLC) for beverages and charcuterie, followed by a program in the church at 6:45 PM. Pam Hurwitz, a national speaker, from the Faith and Family Collective, will share an important message of inspiration, humor, and hope for everything that lies ahead.
We will also take intentional time to pray for our children and the school year ahead.
We hope you can make every effort to join us for this special evening with your Saint Albert the Great School Family.
If you are a current school family wanting to add a new student for the 2025-2026 school year, your priority application period is August 15-31, 2024. It is critical that we know how many new siblings there are before we start accepting applications from external applicants. To apply for enrollment, a completed application, specified supporting documents, and a $200/$210 non-refundable application fee, must be submitted between August 15-31. Applications do not guarantee enrollment. Each application/applicant is reviewed by our Admissions Team before confirming official enrollment status.
Please keep in mind that applications received after August 31st will be late and considered in the general application pool based on the order of priority criteria found on our website.
For more information about our 2025-2026 admissions process and to download our new student application, please visit https://www.school.stalbert.org/admissions.
If your child is currently enrolled at St. Albert, you DO NOT need to apply again. Once your child is in the school, we will roll over their enrollment each year. The information above only pertains to families that are adding a brand new sibling to the school.
If you have any friends or family who are interested in touring and/or applying for the 2025/2026 school year, please refer them to our school website (under the Admissions tab). We have made several changes to our application dates and admission policies. They will want to reference that information before applying.
For questions, contact Janelle Richardson at jrichardson@stalbert.org.
Water bottles can be purchased thru the online spirit wear store and are back in stock. You will receive an email when the order is ready for pick up in the office. Please order thru this link: link.
