NTI/Snow (make up) days:
It’s been such a crazy start to our school year! Thank you so much to our families for working with us in trying to make our NTI (Non-traditional instruction) days beneficial to our students. Thank you also to our teachers for planning and implementing online lessons on short notice.
Back in September, St. Albert utilized their one “snow day” that was figured into our 2024-2025 school calendar. This was a free day in which school was called off because of hurricane winds. Since that date, the state of Kentucky has declared that day as “excused” and we no longer have to use that day as our “snow day”.
The Archdiocesan policy on NTI days is that each school is permitted to use 5 NTI days during a school year. With last week's snowstorm, we have used 4 of those 5 NTI days.
With all of that information, the plan for upcoming snow days is:
Our next snow day will be a “free day” to enjoy the day
A second snow day would be an NTI day (#5 for the school year)
A third snow day would be a free day that would be made up on Monday, February 17.
A fourth snow day would be a free day that would be made up on Monday, April 21.
A fifth snow day would be a free day that would be made up on Friday, May 2.
A sixth and subsequent snow days would be added to the end of the school year: (May 27, 28…)
I am hoping that we do not need to utilize any of the bulleted plans listed above, but for planning purposes, we are ready.
Thank you again for being part of our team.

Happy New Year, Viking families! This month, our Friendzy lesson, "Bounce Back," focuses on building resilience and practicing perseverance—our Virtue of the Month. Life brings its challenges, but with God's help, we can "bounce back" stronger than before.
Our goal is to help students understand that setbacks are not the end of the road but an opportunity to grow in faith, courage, and determination. We are reminded of this in James 1:12:
"Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love Him."
Another key verse to guide us this month is Galatians 6:9:
"Let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."
Parents, join us in fostering a spirit of perseverance at home! Here’s a simple prayer to share with your children during evening prayers: "Dear Jesus, when life feels hard and we face challenges, help us remember that You are with us. Give us strength to keep trying, courage to trust in Your plan, and the joy of knowing that with You, we can bounce back. Amen."
Let’s encourage one another to keep going, keep growing, and keep trusting in God's love and guidance. Together, we can make 2025 a year of strength and resilience!

Families and individuals of all ages are welcome!
This holy hour will take place in the church and will include prayers, music, scripture and time for silent reflection. The presence of Christ in the Eucharist is real, true and substantial. We have an amazing opportunity to spend time with Jesus who is physically present in the Eucharist that is exposed on the altar.
