Some time, there could be a requirement to integrate certain Microsoft office document template to the workflow, so that user will see the familiar look and feel document from the SAP inbox, rather than SAP standard look and feel.
1. The first step is to create document template. Please note that the document template can NOT be created externally and imported to the workflow builder. It has to be created from within the workflow builder itself.
2. Once you double click on it, you will be able to choose the type of Microsoft document to be created as shown below:
You can change the document type later by clicking on the 'document class' button
3. It will launch the necessary Microsoft application installed at the client side. You can add the necessary workflow container element by double clicking on the elements on the left panel.
4. Once you save the document template, a new read only workflow container element will be created
5. You can then start adding the step in the workflow, and choose the document template you have created in step 1 and workflow container element which is created in step 4.
6. Afterwards in the workflow you can add additional step to create, print, edit, display or delete the document by using the SAP standard tasks provided in task group 71000004.
7. You can for example, add step which use SAP standard task 71007945 to display document.
8. The typical workflow definition will look something like this one below.
Life is beautiful! Let's make it meaningful and colorful!
