Anchor Step in Workflow

There could be a requirement where certain steps are NOT normally required in the workflow, but they might be required ONLY at certain scenario. To handle such situation, SAP comes up with

step which allow the additional steps in subworkflow to be executed only if the user choose to do so.

1. The first step to create the necessary subworkflows and their additional steps which later will be used from within the adhoc anchor step.

2. Following is the example of adhoc anchor step being used in the workflow definition

So, how do we change the anchor step with subworkflow at runtime? You have to go to the graphical log and click on the anchor step button which will allow you to select the additional subworkflow to be added.

Once you have done choose the subworkflow, then the additional steps will be added to the original workflow as depicted below:
