Cancer Survivor Registry - An Advocacy - A Legacy

I started my Cancer Survivor Registry (containing cancer patients I have treated before, with 10 or more years of remission) in December 23, 2011 to serve as an inspiration to current and future cancer patients and will debunk the thinking that having cancer is always a death sentence.

As of December 11, 2012, I have reached the target of 50 in my registry of cancer survivors. I have decided not to set a new target but will continue to track, to serve cancer patients and update my registry.

As of December 14, 2014, I have a registry of 100 cancer survivors.

As of December, 2016, I have 115 cancer survivors in my registry.

As of October 3, 2017, I have a registry of 124 cancer survivors.  I will continue to track and increase the number of cancer survivors under my care.

As of October 23, 2018, I have a registry of 132 cancer survivors.

I will continue to track and increase the number of cancer survivors under my care.

This is one of my end-points in which I can say I have lived a life that matters.

This is one of my legacies to my cancer patients!  I have helped a significant number of cancer patients to be in long remission, if not cure in my 36 years of practice (1982-2018).   I have inspired them to look forward, to keep their hopes high to be included in my cancer survivor registry. There have been quite a number of my cancer patients who would remind me when they reach 10 years of remission that they should now be included in my cancer survivor registry. They would go to my clinic to celebrate and to have a picture with me.

The other legacy I leave behind to my cancer patients is the formation of the support group, MDH Cancer Crusaders Club, which is now on its 31st year.
