The Bean State is the place to be for fishers, and not just because of the favorable weather. It is also due to an abundance of wonderful resources and, more importantly, responsible management. Boston boasts of high-quality fishing grounds that are distributed to thousands of miles of tidal shoreline, lakes and rivers. As these aquatic resources are teeming with countless fish of a diversity of species, anglers will have a field day going to any of the fishing spots, with some of the best ones listed below.

Duxbury Beach Bridge: The view here in Duxbury is a great addition to the excellent Atlantic fishing. Fisherman can fish off the side of the bridge, nets are helpful to bring the fish above surface. The shoreline is not over fished from boats since there is a regulation in place to prevent this. Fishermen who fish off the shore are required to keep their rod right at the edge of the water until they are done fishing. This lake also strives to remain a clean fun attraction so they require cleanup of all trash and fish.
Fourth Cliff: Fishing here is often rewarding due to the location, this area is located on a peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and North Lake. Throughout the year fishing is good, but the best time would be during summer so that you can rent a campsite and stay multiple nights. A kayak is a useful tool to get a little further from shore where the chances of catching a larger fish increases.
Long Pond: Long Pond is over 200 acres in size making for a great boating lake. There is a launch off Long Pond Road on the north end of the pond. There is plentiful amounts of fish in the lake due to regular stocking. Fish in the pond include salmon, perch, bass, bluegill, killifish, smelt and eel. The main attraction is trout, with four varieties being stocked annually. Trout can be caught using simple Powerbait or fly setup.
