For a lot of people today, smartphone photography has taken over its DSLR counterpart. Either because smartphone users are just casual photographers who don’t own a DSLR or they’re professionals who prefer the quicker and simpler way of shooting from a mobile phone. A big reason why smartphone photography has been prevalent nowadays is that of its ability to edit images on the go, thanks to photo editing apps.

With 2017 fast approaching the halfway mark, here are so far the best photo editing apps of the year.
PicsArt (iOS/Android) : Probably the best photo editing app that is intended for consumers. It has very intuitive and powerful photo editing tools that you can use with just a few taps.
Snapseed (iOS/Android): Now, if you want more control of your editing and want more tools to tinker with your photo, then Google’s Snapseed is the best pro editing app for your needs. It's more complex than PicsArt but offers more tools for photo editing. It’ll take you time to get to know all its features, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll be editing those photos like a pro in no time.
