May 5-6, 2020 Edward Snowden

Learning Target: I can explain how the Edward Snowden revealed that the U.S government might be breaking the 4th Amendment of the Constitution.

Warm Up: Directions: Students should keep today's political cartoon in mind as they learn about Edward Snowden and what he did.

Political Cartoon: Saint/Sinner; Traitor/Patriot

Opening: Directions: The students will watch the video of our opening meeting.

The links show in the video of opening meeting are included below. Students may look at them if they wish. However, students are not required to do anything with these links.

Word of the Day: Whistleblower - a person who informs on a person or organization engaged in an illicit activity.

4th Amendment - "...'The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects,[a] against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated..."


Work Session: Directions: The students will watch the video with questions of an interview with Edward Snowden. The whole time you are watching the video ask yourself if you think Edward Snowden did the right thing or the wrong thing.
