a. Explain how the location, climate, and distribution of natural resources impact trade and affect where people live in Mexico, Brazil, and Cuba.

Warm Up: Political Cartoon: Immigrant Caravan

Opening: The teacher will explain how to make an Immigration Brochure.

Work Session: The students will make an Immigration Brochure that will explain what they think should be done about immigration policy in the United States of America.

1) Student Name Immigration Brochure

2) Border: What do you think should be done to secure the border, especially the border southern border with Mexico? Do you think there should be a wall like the one Donald Trump wants? Do you think there should be a moat with snakes and alligators? Do you think there should be more board patrol agents?

3) Legal Immigration: Do you think anything should be changed about the way people can legally immigrate into the United States? Do you think more or fewer people should be allowed to immigrate to the United States?

4) Asylum: Do you think anything should be changed about the U.S. asylum system? Do you think we should let people seek asylum in the United States at all? Do you think people are scamming the credible threat requirement for being offered asylum?

5) Illegal immigrants already in the country: What do you think should be done about illegal immigrants already in our country? Do you think they should be deported out of the country? Do you think there should be a pathway through which illegal immigrants can become U.S. citizens?

6) Student Choice: If you need more space to explain your opinion for one of the other topics you can use this extra panel. Is there an aspect of immigration that you want to address that isn't cover on the other panels? You could draw your own original political cartoon about immigration.
