Wikileaks: Pakistani troops have sabotaged the aircraft pilots to avoid raids in tribal areas

Pakistani military pilots for fighter aircraft sabotage could not participate in terrorist operations in the tribal areas situated on the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan, says U.S. diplomatic documents revealed by Wikileaks and quoted by the Washington Times.

Another U.S. diplomatic documents show that the Pakistani army chief of staff asked to continue U.S. air operations in the tribal areas, although the official level raids unmanned U.S. aircraft were severely criticized.

According to a U.S. diplomatic telegrams in 2006, an official at the Pakistani Air Force, Vice Admiral Khalid Chaudhry, said the Pakistani military pilots have sabotaged airplanes not to participate in the operation.

During a meeting in January 2008, Pakistani Chief of Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, called for continued U.S. air raids in South Waziristan province.
