U.S. evacuates its nonessential diplomatic staff in Yemen

United States announced Wednesday that the family ordered non-essential personnel and diplomatic staff to leave Yemen.

This decision comes in the U.S. State Department while President Barack Obama urged the Yemeni President Ali Abdallah London Saleh to give up power.

Violent confrontations take place Monday between forces loyal to President Sanaa challenged and armed tribesmen, led by at least 44 dead in three days. This led to the closure of the airport.

In its Communication, the State Department warns Americans about the very high level of insecurity in Yemen due to terrorist activity and civil disorder in this country.

Saleh, in power for almost 33 years and considered an important ally of Washington in the fight against al-Qaida in Yemen strongly installed, refused Sunday to sign an exit plan proposed by Arab Gulf monarchies.

This plan provides for the formation of a Cabinet by the opponents of reconciliation and resignation at the latest within one month of Saleh, in return for guaranteeing immunity for him and his relatives, all of which will end with presidential elections held within 60 days .
