Technical Executive.

  • To be responsible for taking a Designed Product through the pre production stages to contract sealing and to an efficient manufacturing Style Change.

  • To liaise with The Customer in: The Presentation of New Styles for Contract Sealing - Participation in the Range Development and the Management Processes - Attending Product Development Meetings as defined in The Customers Critical Path - Attendance at Joint Product Development Meetings.

  • To ensure successful completion of the development processes prior to handing over to Manufacturing.

  • To continually monitor the efficiency and quality of the department.

  • To provide Materials Costings to the Costings Department.

  • To support the needs of the manufacturing team when required.

  • Top manage the function of the Product Development Administrator, Liaison with all Internal Departments, to include the development of The Style File.

  • To undertake any reasonable task as directed by 'The Product Development / Technical Director.

Design Administrator.

  • Liase with sample Room on a daily basis , tracking prototype design samples, communicating closely to ensure on time delivery of correct prototypes

  • Assist in requesting revised samples if necessary , and ensuring these amendments are kept up to date on the Web product management system

  • Responsible for following up delivery of design fabric lengths, and recording their delivery

  • Responsible for knowing the whereabouts of all design and bought samples

  • To be accountable for all Web information, relating to design, being current and up to date. This will involve attending fit meetings with the customer and passing the information on to team members.


Sample Cutting Supervisor.

  • To organise and control the resources of the section / team to achieve set quality and quantity targets.

  • To communicate and ensure Quality Standards are achieved by all operators in the section.

  • To carry out Appraisals with each member of the team.

  • To be responsible for general housekeeping within the section.

  • To assist in the management and control of absenteeism and labour turnover.

  • To train and develop operators to the relevant standards.

  • To control output standards by effective balancing of the workload.

  • To undertake weekly Team Briefings.

  • To be professional at all times, acting as a Role Model.

  • To adhere to all Health & Safety Legislation.

  • To undertake any reasonable duties as requested by management.

Design Pattern Cutter.

  • To assist Designers in the construction of style ranges producing patterns to required standards.

  • To liaise with Designers on the interpretation of sketches and to increase awareness of technical issues in order to produce required garments.

  • To ensure quality standards are achieved at all times.

  • To liaise with machinists to ensure correct assembly of garment cut from a pattern.

  • To record relevant information and amendments incurred during process of pattern cutting, relaying details to relevant departments/persons.

  • To measure patterns and garments and maintain updated size charts in relation to the contract sealing process.

  • To communicate all relevant technical data as required by computerised production system.

  • To produce templates and markers as required for the Production Team.

  • To ensure appropriate machinery is available in order to produce garments.

  • To attend Team Briefs to be aware of changes of priorities in design room work schedule.

  • To undertake any reasonable task as requested by Design Room Manager.

Sample Cutter.

  • To liaise with The Design Room Manager and Fabric Technologist to cut and prepare Design & Development Samples and Wearer Trial Samples as required.

  • To liaise with The Design Room Manager and Fabric Technologist to Prioritise samples to be cut.

  • To Book in and control all Sample Fabrics

  • To liaise with Pattern Cutters to assist with making of Production Markers and Templates

  • To undertake any reasonable tasks as requested by the Design Room Manager

Pressing & Finishing Technician.

  • To be responsible for the Technical Excellence of Pressing and Finishing of the Ladies Tailoring Division products.

  • Be an Industry based person experienced in Tailoring and Light Sewing product areas, covering the wide scope of Industrial Garment Pressing methods

  • Fully understand Industrial Garment Pressing and Finishing techniques and equipment.

  • Have strong knowledge of fabric constructions and their relevant finishing processes.

  • Understand the pressing of Garment Shape and translate into pressing methods and sequences.

  • Have the ability to translate methods into Press Programs or Manual Operations which deliver excellent results.

  • Understand Steam, Vacuum and Air Systems and their relevance to achieving high standards of pressing finish

  • Have intimate knowledge of the materials and methods used to cover pressing tables and irons

  • Be able to demonstrate their own pressing capability using Hand Ironing methods which will translate into Machine Pressing methods.

  • Demonstration of these skills is essential to provide confidence in the individuals ability.

  • While such skills may be difficult to find they are essential to enable the business to possess a strong finishing capability.
