My neighbour in Bangalore, Hussain uncle was good friends with Salman Khan's father Salim. Whenever Hussain uncle visited Bombay, they used to meet.

It was sometime in 1991 and Salman Khan was starting to break through Bollywood. I had told Hussain uncle to give me Salman Khan's address so that I could write to him and ask for his autograph. Instead, on his next trip to Bombay, Hussain uncle returned with this letter (below) that he had got Salman to sign, and a photograph. A few weeks later, I was surprised to receive an envelope in the post from Salman Khan. It was another letter, this time with a printed signature and three photographs with it!
